How to be a Strong and Prepared VA Buyer

With the fast-paced real estate market we’re currently experiencing in Placer County (and in many nearby areas), more homes seem to be posting to “pending” rather than new house inventory posting to the “active” market. It’s becoming even more critical for EVERY buyer, to be as prepared as you can before even stepping foot into a home (and falling in love with it). Why? It’s not just because of time wasted, but it’s emotionally draining to not have focus on your exact price bracket and also to find a home that you may or may not be qualified for … You want to be looking at properties that you have the ability to write an offer for, with a preapproval letter to support, that day and/or at least by the next day.

As a VA buyer this becomes even MORE important for you to be prepared. Today we’re going to take a look at a few ways to empower yourself to the MAX as a VA buyer. Maybe, even BEFORE you select your real estate agent (example Desiree Pointer <— subliminal message) :-). It’s imperative for you to do your homework and don’t be afraid to ask questions, so you can ensure you’re prepared and knowledgeable about your expectations and also about the process of VA loans and escrow. Plus, I can’t say it enough, it’s best if you’re working with an experienced agent and loan officer who understand the VA loan process and knows how to keep the transaction working smoothly.

Still need convincing of the importance of preparation? Check out our video below.

Today, Desiree Pointer sits down with Holly Ross of Alpine Mortgage to discuss just a few of the ways to be a strong and prepared VA buyer. There are many misconceptions out there about VA loans that really do need clarification and we hope this gets you on the right path to “VA loan enlightment.” 🙂
